United Tractors Buys 95% Stake in Martabe Gold Mine
Jakarta. United Tractors, a heavy equipment distributor controlled by Astra International, one of the largest Indonesian conglomerates, is acquiring a 95 percent stake in the Martabe gold mine in North Sumatra from Singaporebased Agincourt Resources.
The Martabe gold project is located in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Mining of the Purnama deposit, a significant source for the Martabe project, is being undertaken by conventional openpit methods. Exploration of mineralisation in other parts of the area around the Martabe CoW is ongoing.
